2.04.2020
|

This is a great time to try some new recipes because you might have more time to search up some recipes and add a few to your repertoire when life gets back to normal.

Here are some suggestions!

Meal 1:  You can make all 3 items at the same time.  The pork chops in the oven, potatoes in the air fryer, and veggies on the stovetop.

Baked Pork Chops
Air fryer French fries
Green beans (or veggie of choice) on skillet

Meal 2:  Stir Fry is a great way to use up any […]

Making Your Groceries Last Longer and Prevent Waste

29.03.2020
|

Now that we are well into social distancing and stay at home orders of this COVID-19 pandemic, more and more people are limiting their trips to the grocery store. How can you manage to store that food a little bit longer to try to stretch the days between trips out of the house?

• Invest in produce savers. Many options exist on Amazon from green bags to containers to freshness saver balls. These will keep your produce from going bad as quickly.

• Remove rubber bands from any produce like greens, carrots, and others that might come with a rubber band […]

You’re stuck at home. Maybe you’re working from home or homeschooling your kids, or maybe you are just dying of boredom, feeling like a prisoner in your own home! With stress and feeling confined also comes emotional eating and fatigue.

You have a choice. You can panic and eat and drink too much, or you can decide to reset your bodies and focus on YOU.  Take this time when you might have a little bit more time, a little less on your work plate and better yourself.  Don’t obsess over watching the news.  Improve your health so […]

8 Ways to Cut Out the Extras

Losing weight is not easy, and it gets infinitely more difficult around the holiday season. In the past, you have probably tried diet after diet that may have worked in the beginning but then you stray a little bit and the pounds start creeping back up. Why does it always seem to much harder to lose than the time before? Believe me, I have seen this with many of the clients I work with.

When I have clients track what they are eating, some of them tend to forget to write the “extras” down. What do I mean by “extras […]

Football Season = Reason to Tailgate!

|

I unashamedly can admit that I am a football girl. Born and raised in Wisconsin, I bleed green and gold, but I like all football from high school to college to my Green Bay Packers. And we all know that football games are a perfect reason to tailgate!

I shop at ALDI all the time so I have partnered with them, mainly because when I’m feeding my crew of boys, it’s so much more affordable to get organics, fresh meat, non-GMO, gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options so conveniently! Of course, as a dietitian I make sure […]

Winner, Winner!

I’m always on the lookout for 2 things when I’m grocery shopping: Good food and good deals. Shoppers now have even more tasty reasons to head to ALDI with their grocery lists, and they might want to add some new items to their carts. Eighteen ALDI-exclusive products were recently voted 2019 Best New Product Award (BNPA) winners, according to the 2019 BrandSpark consumer survey.* These 18 products, plus all the other great choices at ALDI, make it even easier to create an award-winning meal with ALDI ingredients. In fact, I learned that 1 in 5 ALDI […]

Living in Florida, who could resist eating oranges and drinking Florida Orange Juice? Say YES This New Year

18.01.2018
|

The New Year often starts with all kinds of resolutions to say “no” to behaviors we don’t want to engage in. We say “no” to way too much when it comes to the New Year and try to cut everything out all at once. And the all-or-nothing philosophy doesn’t last very long for most people.

But what are you saying “Yes” to, especially when it comes to your diet? I know, this coming from a dietitian. Believe it or not, I don’t want you to suffer and cut out all fun in your life […]

40 and Fabulous

|

The number doesn’t thrill me, but everything else about being 40 is actually fabulous. I have so much in my life to be thankful for, and I have never felt better.

I turned 40 back in November, and while I can’t say I dreaded it, I wasn’t exactly thrilled. I distinctly remember when my dad turned 40 and the surprise birthday bash my mom sprung on him, and it was mind boggling that I was that old now, too.

The number doesn’t thrill me, but everything else about being 40 is actually fabulous. I have […]
