Kristina LaRue, RD, CSSD, LD/N
Kristina has been working for Tara since October, 2012. Her duties include working as a consultant sports RD to the Orlando Magic and the University of Central Florida. She also sees individual clients, specializing in sports nutrition, weight management, food sensitivities and intolerances, and eating disorders. She is a co-author of The Flat Belly Cookbook for Dummies (Wiley, 2014) and writes the food and nutrition blog Love & Zest, www.loveandzest.com, where she shares recipes, life, and nutrition.
“I believe in empowering individuals to make choices that support a healthy body and relationship with food and exercise,” says Kristina. “There’s no one size fits all approach to health, but shaming yourself for missteps never motivate.”
She graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and completed her dietetic internship at Oakwood University in 2011. She is a registered dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration and a Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist in the state of Florida. Kristina is board certified in sports dietetics (CSSD). She is also a certified LEAP therapist for Food Sensitivities and Intolerances.
An Active Lifestyle
Kristina enjoys staying active and being outside. As a Florida native, she played USTA tennis competitively. In college she was introduced to triathlons and fell in love with endurance events during her first race. She competed with the Auburn University Triathlon Team from 2007-2010. She loves running and training for marathons and triathlons, as well as CrossFit, gardening, developing recipes, decorating, blogging, food photography, and volunteering. In her spare time, she enjoys outings to the Farmer’s Market and writing and dreaming at local coffee shops with her husband, Eric.
